The World’s Oceanographic Data, at Your Fingertips

Have you ever wondered what the water temperature off the Kamchatka Peninsula is?  What about the wind speed in the Andaman Sea?  Or maybe you’re losing sleep over the chlorophyll levels in the South Pacific.  Fortunately, all of that information –- and 450 million other data points collected from oceanographic instruments around the world –- is freely and easily accessible thanks to the Marinexplore project.

    Interrogation: Backwards and Forwards

Police inquisitors, detectives, and interrogators have long been taught that one method of getting to the truth is to have the subject recount events in reverse order. The theory appears sound: people like to fill in the blanks in a story with constructs, thoughts or images that did not actually happen, to make a tale run smoother. Remove the linear nature of storytelling and the tendency to confabulate should decrease.

Sir Richard Branson’s newest purchase and latest addition to the Virgin Limited Edition collection, Necker Nymph, is a 3-person aero  submarine that can dive down to a depth of 30 metres so you can explore the deep… without having to get around by flipper power! With a trained pilot at the helm, fly underwater and discover ancient shipwrecks and exotic marine life amongst vibrant coral reefs.

    This is super cool!
